Initially I was going to do a project around nature and sculpting natural forms from clay with the TY students I had for eight weeks from January to March.
However upon seeing they were not very engaged with this idea and we could not use clay as intended, I created a character design and flip-book animation making project for them, inspired by the many 'Spongebob' and other cartoon characters sketches I noticed them doing. Play Doh and Plasticine were used to create mini sculptures of the characters designed, instead of the clay.
The intent was to also create a stop motion animation with these characters, however due to various TY trips and events there was not enough time in the end.
