This project was focused on the religious ethos of the school it was unfolded in. It is adaptable and the lesson plans already include some avenues for students to investigate symbolism and iconography of any religion, spirituality, or secular space in which they find peace and clarity.
As the word "religion" comes from an ancient Latin word that means simply "to tie things together."¹ So the main lens through which religion is viewed in this project is as "the human quest for coherence and meaning in the understanding of the world"¹, which is an avenue of investigation applicable to students of all faiths and none.
